As some of you have probably noticed, there's now a word verification required before you can post comments. Allow me to explain why.
Spamming has gone beyond email and has come to blogs. Moments after I post a new post, several comments show up--and they're all advertising products or web sites. I then have to spend a significant amount of time deleting each one so my readers don't have to suffer through them in order to find comments by real people.
I was left with two options. Not allow anonymous posting, which would require registration with Blogger for anyone who wants to post a comment, or the verification. I decided the word verification was the lesser of the two evils.
